Holiday Update

Sun Dec 13, 2009, 11:02 AM
Just finished up school. I'm done, finished. On to look for a job, but that'll probably have to wait until after the holidays, unfortunately. My Jeep is going in on Monday, so I'm without a ride for a couple days. Ill have it back on Wednesday, at least. Then with Christmas and all that coming up, there's just no time.

But I'm optimistic and excited. Should be fun. Finishing up getting portfolio work printed, and all that good stuff.

So that's a small update on my life. Starting to get back into the art groove, since I was so busy with class projects to do anything but quick doodles. Worth noting, I kept a small sketch book with me that I used every Tuesday before class/on breaks. Some cool stuff there, I'll be scanning and posting some of my favorite sketches. And some of the ones I like but suck, ha ha! It's cool, the book was the size of a baseball card, so everything was really small. Just silly doodles, some super heroes, some Halo stuff, an animal or two, LOL. Like I said, those are on the way, you'll see those soon enough!

On the business side of things, I'm doing a logo for a a local organization my friend is in. Without getting too much into it, they start community gardens in the city after decrepit buildings get knocked down. A cool group, it sounds like. It doesn't pay, but it may lead to something that does! Plus I'm all about helping out a friend and a local group.

That's it.

Have a great holiday, whichever one you celebrate!

An Update

Wed Nov 4, 2009, 11:00 AM
I always find it kind of fun to see work that I did on my PC on my Mac. Often, I won't see what something looks like on my Mac until days later, when I'm on DA with my Mac. It's kind of like a surprise. Usually, not too much of a difference. A lot of recent stuff looks lighter on the Mac. Some day I'll fix all of that calibration. Or not, as I'm looking to get a Mac desktop in the future after I get a sweet job.

Turning in my Senior Paper today. It's on Watchmen and Comics. It's a good paper, I had a lot of fun researching and writing it.

I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with my work. The ODST series is quite fun and adventurous, and the cartoony stuff is always a blast. I'm kind of settling into this rough digital painting style, and the illustrative/cartoony style; I think having two styles is fine, though some might argue otherwise. It's all relative, I suppose.

Graduating soon, then I'll get a graphic design or advertising job, while working on my art on the side. And by a Mac Pro, and run OSX and WINDOWS (7 maybe? My scanner only works with XP, so we'll see). Exciting! Costly, but exciting!

Also, I believe I'm getting the MadCatz wooden replica Fender guitar controller for Xbox this Christmas, which is awesome, as I love (and am really good at) Rock Band. I have a real guitar I should be learning to play, but this beauty is what dreams are made off. Full-sized, to boot.

And to end this journal, I will say that I am totally excited for Ed Edd n' Eddy's Big Picture Show on Cartoon Network this weekend. EEE is by far, my favorite cartoon of all time (as far as cartoons go, not counting other animated shows, you know?) Been looking forward to this movie for a long time. Long live the Eds!

Later, and take care!

Keeping It Cool

Wed Sep 9, 2009, 6:55 PM
Finishing up school this semester.

Working on portfolio work, personal work, and stuff for school.

I'll keep posting work as much as I can, I've been hitting a kind of artistic stride lately.

Always learning.

Thanks to everyone for checking out my work. It's much appreciated, as always.

This and That

Tue Jun 23, 2009, 12:37 PM
Just got done posting a whole bunch of Ninja Turtles pieces I did. Hope everyone enjoys, I had a lot of fun with the project.

Lots more to post, so keep an eye out over the summer.

Seeing Transformers: ROTF tomorrow. I still think they should've called it "Transformers" so it could be abbreviated "T2"...and they even could've went for the complete win by just calling it "Transformers 2: Judgment Day"...zing!

Stay well all!

New

Thu Jan 22, 2009, 12:23 PM
Posted some new stuff, and there's a few pieces left to post, but they're on my PC and I'm currently on my Mac.

Haven't posted anything in a while, so I figured I'd post some work from my winter break. Let me know what you think.

Comments and crits are welcome as always.

Looking forward to 2009.

Also, personal highlight from end of 2008: Made it to number 52 in Rock Band 2 on the guitar leader boards. Currently in the top 200. I'm pretty stoked about it, though I haven't played in a week or two.
